Eleni's Story

Eleni Vidalis was born on July 14th, 1968 (forever 28 years old!) in Brookline, Massachusetts. She grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts with her parents Gabriel and Kyriacoula Vidalis. Her parents immigrated to the U.S in 1966 from Greece. Her parents taught Eleni their strong work ethic at a very young age which lead her to an amazing career path today. Her parents started several businesses such as the Olympic Pizza, a convenience store, and dry cleaners. 

Eleni always has believed that stories are so important to share. She spreads awareness with her life stories and through her social platforms. She has a kind heart and always is motivated to help others. She is an activist, a leader, a believer, and is a mother figure to everyone that she meets. 

Family has been an important part of Eleni's life. She has three children, Kyriacoula (Katie), Nickolas, and Maria-Angelica (Miss. Maggie) with her husband Kostas. She is surrounded by a loving, caring, and kind-hearted family. Her family has led on the strong work ethic mindset that has led them to very successful careers.  

Eleni's career path has encouraged her to become a community leader in the Boston area. She is known as the director, host, and producer of "The Greek Program." The show aired for 25 years. During her career, she promoted her Greek culture. From 1990 to 1995, Eleni worked in Athens Greece in Public Relations at Group Delta. During the years of 1997 to 2015, Eleni worked at the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. During the 18 years that she worked at the company, she has had several roles such as Executive Assistant, Operations Administrator, Director of Support Services, Director of Facilities, and Operational System Manager.

Vidalis has become a huge part of the Greek Community. Starting in 1995, she has been a part of the Federation of Hellenic American Society of New England. She has served in various positions including president. Eleni is also a member of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis Council. For over 20 years, Eleni has been a member of Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council where she served as president, making her the first female president of the council.

Currently, Eleni has started her new career as a comedian. In 2019, Eleni made her debut on the comedy stage opening for Basil at Giggles. She has since shared the stage with Angelo Tsarouchas and Ellen Karis. After her show, there was so much positive feedback that led Eleni to continue her comedy career. She is pursuing her career and bringing special guests to her events.

Eleni has received many awards throughout her career. In 2016, Eleni was awarded the Hyde Park Woman Award from the Boston Women's Historic Society for her contributions to media. Eleni has received various recognitions for her contributions from the City of Boston and from the Governor of Massachusetts. In 2019, the Massachusetts House and Senate recognized Eleni for the 25 years of "The Greek Program" in the historic House Chamber by Senator Bruce Tarr. In April 2019, the Boston Red Sox recognized Eleni and her contributions on the field of Fenway Park.

Eleni Vidalis has continued to make such a big impact in the Boston community. The City of Boston wanted to acknowledge her efforts and accomplishments by presenting her an official date of recognition. June 24th 2019, Eleni was given her day to be recognized.
